I haven't updated the site for a few months, and I'm not sure I will do so in the near future. However, I plan to update this season's statistics at the end of the season. Even if I don't update the site, there is a lot of information here. And if you've got any comments on any Arsenal player, past or present, please use the feedback form available at each player page!
The following players from the 1930s were added:
A new feature is available at the Player Archive page. You can now search all players since 1945 by playing position. For players who were active between 1945 and 1970 you can choose between goalkeepers, full-backs, half-backs, wingers and inside forwards/centre-forwards. The post-1970 players are divided into goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, wingers and forwards.
Manuel Almunia, Mathieu Flamini, Arturo Lupoli, Robin van Persie and Philippe Senderos were added to the player archive.
Another 16 players from thw 1940s have been added to the player archive. This means that profiles of every Arsenal player since 1945/46 now are available at this site.
Today's second update. The following players were added:
Another four players from the 1950s added.
Several players from the 1950s have been added to the player archive, and they are:
I have added the statistics for 2003/04 to the individual player pages. The statistics pages have also been updated to include the record-breaking 2003/04 season.
My email provider has had some problems lately, so I haven't been able to check my email since last Wednesday. If you've sent me an email using one of the contact forms on this site, I haven't been able to read it, so could you please re-send it? I've got myself another email account, so everything should be working fine now.
Oh, and by the way ... Champions! Champions! Champions!
A bloke called David Millan has done some extensive research on Bill Harper (Arsenal and Plymouth goalkeeper during the 1920s and 1930s), which he has shared with me. David sent me a huge amount of information on this Bill Harper, so I thought I'd mention it here. Thanks David!
I have added comments on the players who won the 1971 FA Cup. The comments are taken from the 1971 FA Cup Final match programme. The only player missing is Eddie Kelly, who was not included in the programme – instead they had Jon Sammels as substitute. Click on a player below to view the comments and all other facts.
Match facts from the cup matches (FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup) in 1981/82 are now available. Match facts from the league games in 1981/82 may come at a later time.
Match facts from 1979/80 and 1980/81 have been added to the site. I have also made a profile of 1920s goalkeeper John Robson. Thanks to Gordon Easton who provided me with facts about him!
This week I've been working on match facts from the 1978/79 season. Click the link to the 1978/79 season page, choose a competition and click on a date to view the match facts. The march facts contain Arsenal's starting line-ups, substitutes and goalscorers. In a few cases I've also found the opponents' line-ups and scorers.
All results from 1985/86 to 1996/97 are now available. If you've read the previous updates further down this page, you'll realize that every result between 1978/79 and today now is available at this site. You will find the results by going to the seasons page, choosing a season and then a competition.
It's time for another major update. Enjoy!
The rest of the players from the 1960s and 70s have now been added to the player archive, and they are: Micky Boot, Roger Davidson, George Johnston, Alan Tyrer, Steve Brignall, Brian Chambers, Paul Davies, Jim Harvey, Mark Heeley, Pat Howard and Kevin Stead. Information on every player who played for Arsenal between 1959/60 and 1980/81 is now available at this site. I have also added all results from the 1978/79 season together with match facts from the FA Cup matches. Results are now also available from the 1997/98, 1998/99, 1999/00 and 2000/01 seasons. But wait, there's more! In the statistics section, there's now a list of players with the most number of appearances for Arsenal.
I have added my comments on Liam Brady Malcolm Macdonald, Alan Sunderland and Brian Talbot. Please send in your own comments on these players too (or any other player for that matter)!
A profile of José Antonio Reyes has been added.
Today I've added profiles of three of our current young players who have all made first-team appearances during the season, and they are Francesc Fábregas (“Cesc”), Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Jerome Thomas. I have also added profiles of the following three past players: Ray Daniel, Arthur Shaw and Lionel Smith. The statistics have also been updated after today's 4–1 FA Cup win over Middlesbrough.
I have made a few more season pages, which means that this site now covers every season since World War II (1945/46). The statistics pages have also been extended to cover every post-war season.
During the last couple of weeks I have converted the rest of the season pages to the new design. I have also added profiles of Derek Tapscott plus managers George Swindin, Tom Whittaker and Herbert Chapman.
All players have now been transferred to the new design. Next I will try to give the rest of the season pages (1960/61 and backwards) the new look as well.
