After his magnificent contribution to last year's Fairs Cup conquest, he began this season by having a cartilage operation. Returned to full fitness and peak back-four form for the start of the F.A. Cup run. Joined Arsenal groundstaff in May 1960, became professional April 1962 and has played nearly 250 senior games, including 1968 and 1969 League Cup Finals here.
Hi
I run the website for Gorleston FC at http://members.lycos.co.uk/gorlestonfc.
Just wondered if you know whether Peter Simpson played for us before joining Arsenal? A friend feels he did. I have a
page on ex-players who turned pro and would like to add Simpson to it if he has played for us! If he did would you mind
if I link direct to your page to save me work!
Cheers
Dave
Peter Simpson, who was a member of the Norfolk Schoolboys team,
joined Arsenal straight from school without playing for any other
senior club. He played his entire English career at Arsenal before
finishing with two seasons in America playing for the New England Tea Men.
David
peter simpson was the most underated player of all time he could dribble like best pass like giles head like toshak defend like beckenbaur never got recognition he deserved far better than hunter who was prefered for england arsenals best player during double season look at goals against record low probably one of the top 5 players of all time
The most under rated Defender ever. A superb player.
